Gerald Arlon PlattGerald Arlon Platt, age 85, of Crockett passed away Monday February 15, 2021 in the Winfield Nursing Center. Arlon was born July 17, 1935 in Grapeland to parents, Clifford A. Platt and Elinor Beazley Platt. He was veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany. Arlon was a wonderful, caring husband, father, grandfather and brother who always had a smile.

Arlon is survived by daughter, Tonya Arlene Platt; granddaughter, Aubrey Elayne Platt; daughters, Debbie Smith McCall, Sandy Smith Bruce, Pattie Smith Tyer and husband, David; grandchildren, Michael Scott McCall, Lyndsey McCall Rice and husband, Derek, Jennie Bruce Wichers, Melissa Tyer Richmond and husband, Paul, Devin Tyer and wife, Lyndsey; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Shaylie, Maddie, Jake, Averi, Nate, Noah, Payton, Gavin, Weston, Riley; sisters, Virginia Patton and husband, Jerry of Latexo, Patsy Ann Simcik and husband, Clarence of Robinson; sister-in-law, Elenner Starr and Jim Edd Jones of Grapeland; many beloved nieces nephews, cousins including special cousins and best friends, Bill Platt of Crockett and John Wisdom of Longview. He was preceded in death by beloved wife, Dorothy Crowson Smith Platt; parents, Clifford and Elinor Platt; son-in-law, Sam Bruce; grandson, Justin Bruce.

Graveside funeral services for Gerald Arlon Platt will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 in the Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Dennis Ivey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michelle Lynn Holsey Foundation, P. O. Box 652, Crockett, TX  75835

    I am going to miss his fellowship but will hold his memories close.
