Billy Bob Christian OBIT picBilly Bob Christian, age 67, of Crockett, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in Bay City while on vacation. Billy was born July 10, 1953 in Crockett to parents, W. R. Christian and Evelyn Joyce Millwee Christian. He was a 1972 graduate of Kennard High School and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era.  Billy had a long career in law enforcement and was currently a sergeant serving as Investigator for the Houston County Sheriff Office. He was a member and Master Mason of the Lothrop Lodge #21 AF & AM, Vice President of the Consolidated Water Board, member of the Texas Sheriff’s Association and Texas Municipal Police Association. Also, Billy was a faithful member of the Porter Springs Baptist Church.

Billy is survived by wife of 25 years, Brenda Christian of Crockett; step-son, Bradley Matlock and wife, Alicia of The Woodlands; daughter, Amber Martin and husband, Justin of Colorado; grandchildren, Tyler Burdett and Kathy of Spring, Lexi Rhiannon of The Woodlands, Destiny Rodgers and husband, Brandon of Camp Lejeune, N.C., Emilie Pope of Marble Falls, Briana Matlock of The Woodlands, Matthew Musick of Colorado, Shayla Matlock of The Woodlands; great-grandchildren, Avery, Owen, Serenity, Everleigh and one due at the end of September; sister, Marilyn Joyce Moore of Crockett; sister-in-law, Mary Christian of Grapeland; very special friends, Brother Tommy Hutto and wife, Doris of Crockett; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends; plus a beloved dog, Smokey. He was preceded in death by parents, W. R. and Evelyn Christian; sister, Barbara Ann Christian; brother, Charles Wayne “Bubba” Christian; and brother-in-law, Robert Moore.

Funeral services for Billy Bob Christian will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2021 in the Porter Springs Baptist Church with Brother Wayne Stewart and Brother Tommy Hutto officiating. Interment to follow at Boggs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Porter Springs Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 161 C.R. 3070, Crockett, TX 75835.

  10. Brenda, I, was so shocked yesterday when spoke with Brother Tommy. And he told me about Billy. I, loved Billy like a blood Brother. And I know that he and Brother Tommy was more like Brothers, than just best friends. Billy was a very GOOD MAN, GOOD CHRISITAN MAN, and friend to everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, or came in contact with him whether on streets, or at his favorite place his Church!!!! Billy is setting beside Jesus now!!!!
