Billy Charles Crowson

CrowsonBilly Charles Crowson, age 80, of Crockett, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020 at his residence.  Billy was born March 11, 1940 in Houston County to parents, J. O. Crowson and Bessie Corbitt Crowson.  He was a graduate of Lovelady High School and after graduation, served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.  After his service to his country, he returned back to Houston County where he was a very respected cowboy, working long hours but doing what he loved.  Billy was a faithful member of Harvest Church.

Billy is survived by wife, Lynda Evans Crowson of Crockett; sons, Johnny Catoe and wife, Sherrie of Crockett, Jimmy Catoe and wife, Cindy of Crockett, Jeffrey Catoe and wife, Tracey of Latexo, Billy Frank Crowson; step-sons, Shawn Ray Blair and wife, Rhonda of Huntsville, Lane Scott Blair and wife, Susan of Huntsville; grandchildren, Vic, Danielle, J J, Colby, Carter, Claire, Ashley, Sarah, Caleb, Chris and wife, Carissa; great-grandchildren, Tifton, Tripp, Jayden, Jaycelyn; favorite niece, Jessica Carmichael; favorite nephews, Jeff Witterstater and Jay Crowson, sister-in-law, Vicki Crowson of Lovelady; numerous other relatives and many, many friends.  He was preceded in death by wife, Patricia Wendell “Dale” Stewart Crowson; parents, J. O. and Bessie Crowson; brothers, Burtis Crowson, Curtis Crowson, Carl Dean Crowson, Davy Lee Crowson; son, Darrell Catoe.

Graveside funeral services for Billy Charles Crowson will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2020 in the Creek Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Ivey officiating.

Family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.  Due to the current health crisis, the Crowson family request that you practice proper social distancing at visitation and service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Harvest Church, 1403 East Loop 304, Crockett, TX  75835
