Billye Jean Glover obitprogramBillye Jean Wilkinson Glover, age 92, of Crockett passed away October 16, 2020 at the Elmcroft Assisted Living in Graham. Billye was born May 11, 1928 on a farm near Hollis, Oklahoma, the first child of Clarence A. Wilkinson and Leona Edgar Wilkinson. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of 13 years and strived to live in His will all the rest of her life. She attended LaCasa Schools near Hollis, OK and graduated as valedictorian of her senior class in May, 1946 then attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, OK graduating cum laude in August, 1949. After graduation, she was employed by Weatherford Public Schools where she was secretary to the superintendent also teaching two classes of sophomore English for one year then became a full time school secretary.

Billye married George E. Glover in Weatherford, OK, on August 6, 1950, and in 1952, they moved to Midland, TX where their three sons were born. In 1974, she and George were transferred to Houston and she got a job as a secretary with Moncrief Oil Company retiring after 27 years. In 1987, they moved to Crockett to enjoy their retirement. Billye was a faithful member of the Central Baptist Church for many years.

Billye is survived by sons, Gary Glover and wife, Carol of Olney, Keith Glover and wife, Christi of Sitka, Alaska, Kendall Glover and wife, Samantha of Gillette, Wyoming; granddaughters, Sarah, Kate, Elizabeth; great-grandsons, Jackson and Carson; sister-in-law, Theoda Wilkinson of Friendswood. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, George E. Glover; parents, Clarence and Leona Wilkinson; brothers, Elreece Wilkinson and Elree Wilkinson.

A private family graveside service for Billye Jean Wilkinson Glover was held Friday, October 23, 2020 in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett.
