Bobby Barber picBobby Gene Barber, age 70, of Crockett, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Crockett Medical Center. Bobby was born January 17, 1951 in Saratoga to parents, G. L. Barber and Marjorie Porter Barber. Bobby is a veteran of the United States Army who served in Germany at the end of the Vietnam War. He worked as a machinist for Lufkin Industries for many years and was a member of the Good Shepherd Fellowship Church. Bobby loved writing poetry and had a heart for God. He was a superhero at being Vicki’s husband, he was the love of her life.

Bobby is survived by wife of 42 years, Vicki Lynn Barber of Crockett; children, Tanya Conway and husband, Kevin Ikner of Groveton, Charles Conway of New Mexico, Zachary Conway of Crockett; grandchildren, Brandon Conway and wife, Lara of Groveton, Matt Westerman of Groveton, Courtney Rester and husband, Johnathan of Groveton, Tessa and Jacob Conway of Rusk, Jacob Conway of Rusk; great-grandchildren, Keagan and Rylan McClelland and Emri Rester of Groveton, Jordan, Ryker, Kaylor and Blaydon Conway; sisters, Doris Francios of Corrigan, Gail and Charles Hammons of Corrigan; brothers, Jerry Barber and wife, Kathy of New Caney, Edward “Speedy” Barber of Lufkin; special nephew, Lennon Lewis and wife, Chrissy of Corrigan; special cousins, Suzy and Donny Hicks of Kennard; numerous other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by parents, G. L. and Marjorie Barber; brothers, Milton Barber, G. L. Barber, Jr., Charlie Conaway.

Funeral services for Bobby Gene Barber will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021 at the Good Shepherd Fellowship Church, Rev. Leon Wallace officiating. Interment to follow at the Weches Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. prior to service.
