Mary Carolyn Platt programCarolyn Musick Platt, age 84, of Crockett, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Winfield Rehab and Nursing Center, Crockett, Texas. Carolyn was born the youngest of twelve children on August 29, 1936 in Grapeland to James “Jim” Musick and Lela Pearl Baker Musick. She was a loving wife, mother, granny, and aunt, always giving of her time for friends and family. Carolyn was known as “Mamma Platt” to many, as she served as Girl Scout leader, PTA leader, band mom, cheerleader mom, Sunday school teacher and church camp counselor. She was a member of San Pedro Baptist Church in Grapeland.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of almost 65 years, Bill Platt of Crockett; daughters, Donna Jasper and husband, Rob, of Arlington, Darla Summers and husband, Jim of Fort Worth; son-in-law, Alex Ynguanzo of Fluvanna; grandchildren, Stephanie Reeves and husband, Frank of McKinney, Cassondra Ynguanzo of Fort Worth, Cara Ynguanzo of Watauga, Stephen Hardy and wife, Katie of Mansfield, Brandi Barnes and husband, Derek of Kennedale, Neva Phelps and husband, Dustin of Stephenville, Makayla Hardy of Stephenville; great-grandchildren, Landon and Addalynn Reeves of McKinney, Brayden Cline, Tuff and Sadie Clerihew of Watauga, Maddie and Cora Hardy of Mansfield, Declan and Bryce Barnes of Kennedale, and Keller Phelps of Stephenville; sister-in-law, Cely Roser of Crockett; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by daughter, Denise Ynguanzo; parents, Jim and Pearl Musick; brothers, Reuben, Joseph, Charles, Marvin, Medwin, Nig and Red Musick; sisters, Ruth Bunyard, Alma Leen Ellisor, and Verzona Dial.

Funeral services for Carolyn Musick Platt will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Bob Gunnels and Rev. Brad Riza officiating. Interment to follow at Denson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Brayden Cline, J.R. Trammell, Colt Robinson, Justin Ritchie, Jason Musick, and Quentin Musick.
