Charline Harkins Sims

Charline Sims PhotoCharline Harkins Sims, 96, of Crockett, died 7:30 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the Houston County Nursing Home.  Charline was born November 17, 1924 in Kennard to parents, John Thomas Harkins and Lela Belle Vickers Harkins.  She graduated from Crockett High School and went on to work for Houston Light and Power for many years, until her retirement in 1984.  Charline was a dedicated Christian and loved God.  She enjoyed to crochet, garden, had a witty sense of humor and loved animals.  She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by sons, Thomas Martin Sims, Kenneth Charles Sims and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Tiffany Sims Lawrence and husband, Chet, Justin Thomas Sims and wife, Priscilla, Billy Sims; great-grandchildren, Cody Sims, Dylan Sims, Joshua Sims and Belinda Sims; great-great-grandchild, Aries Sims.  She was preceded in death by parents, John and Lela Harkins; grandson, Kenneth Charles Sims Jr.; sister, Eris Morgan.

Graveside services for Charline Harkins Sims will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in Corinth Cemetery, Rev. Leon Wallace officiating.  Visitation 1:00 p.m. at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home prior to graveside.  Online condolences may be left at www.callawayallee.com.

  1. One time Charline got some of her first cousins to start emailing each other. Most of us were in our 90s. I will always cherish our emails and phone calls.
    After Charline went to the nursing home we had to write letters. I will miss her.

  2. We are very sorry for your loss we will be praying for the family strength in this tough time. Charlene was a great neighbor and friend. In 1994 I moved next to Charlene I would go over her house and help her with emails and financial. She was a very loving lady and lived a great life we will definitely miss her

  3. Ms Charline was a sweet lady. I knew her thru her friend Roselyn(Rose) Huweiler. She was a delightful lady that made us laugh often. Prayers for all.
