Curtis D. Snead, Jr.

Curtis Snead Obit pic FIXEDCurtis D. Snead, Jr., age 82, of Buffalo passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Woodland Heights Medical Center. Curtis was born May 2, 1938 in Longview to parents, Curtis Denzel Snead, Sr. and Willie Mae Hancock Snead. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Curtis worked as a Carman for Southern Pacific Railroad in the Englewood Yard for over 30 years. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Curtis is survived by wife of 54 years, Carolyn Snead of Buffalo; daughter, Bonnie MacArthur of Nevada; sons, Curtis Damon Snead and wife, Mary of Conroe, Toby Snead and wife, Krissy of Arkansas, Travis Snead and wife, Julie of Crockett; sister, Diane Mason and husband, Ron of Odessa; brother, Ed Snead of California; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Willie Mae Snead.

Funeral services for Curtis D. Snead, Jr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2021 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel, Pastor Curtis Damon Snead, officiating. Interment to follow at the Rice Family Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Support Group of Houston County, 192 Coral Gables, Trinity, Texas 75862.

  1. Curtis will be sorely missed by his friends and fellow vendors at Rose Antique Mall in Rogers AR. He was quite the character and could always bring a small to your face. We have enjoyed his friendship got many years. Curtis was a God loving person and I feel certain Heaven will enjoy his presence there. Love and prayers to the family. Rest in Peace my friend.
