Dakota Belknap “Kota-Bear”

Dakota BelknapDakota Belknap “Kota-Bear”, age 23, of  Jewett, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Bryan.  He was born March 28, 1997 in McKinney to parents, Billy Franklin Belknap and Jennifer Allen Belknap.  Dakota graduated from Centerville High School in 2016 and was a torch operator in the steel mill.

Kota-Bear is survived by wife, Destiny Belknap of Jewett; children, Kayton Belknap, Peyton Stewart, McKenna Belknap of Leon County; parents, Billy and Jennifer Belknap of Beaumont; grandparents, Robert and Margie Ward of Mabank, Walter Allen of Seven Points, James and Vickie Belknap of Centerville; sister, Blaire Hedrick of Jewett; brothers, Hayden Belknap of Beaumont, Rylee Belknap of Beaumont; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by great-grandmothers, Cathrine Allen, Betty Osteen; great-grandfather, Robby Osteen; great-great-grandparents, David and Loletta Belknap; uncles, Bernie Thomas, Joey Allen.

Funeral services for Dakota Belknap “Kota-Bear” will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Bro. Shane Easterling officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. prior to service.
