Gary Sanders, age 75, of Grapeland passed away Saturday July 29, 2017 in Humble. He was born February 23, 1942 in Bryson, Texas to parents, James Rogers Sanders and Hazel Lowder Sanders. Gary was a member of the North Loop Baptist Church and served as a minister for many years. Gary also retired from truck driving.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rachel Bowdoin Sanders of Grapeland; daughters, Cindy Adams and husband, Joey of Latexo, Debra Brandon and husband, Raymond of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Becca Reed and husband, Shane of Crockett, Brandi Adams of Crockett, Zach Warwick and wife, Cheyann of Porter, Shelby Nichols and husband, Justin of Cleveland; great-grandchildren, Ryliee, River, Lou Kasey, Kinsley, and Shae Leigh; brother, Jim Sanders of Hemphill; sister, Tonia Cowger of Lovelady; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

Gary was preceded in death by father, James Sanders; mother, Hazel Wilkerson; brother, Jody Sanders; sister, Connie Davis, and grandparents, Verda Lou and Lee Elmer Sanders.

Funeral services for Gary Sanders will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dennis Lowery officiating. Interment will follow in the Porter Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday evening from 5:00 7:00 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.

  1. So sorry to hear about Gary Passing. The short time he worked Security for us, he was always there, no matter what. In fact he was working when maybe he should have been taking it easy. Gary was very well thought of !

    • Chris; THANKS , Gary really liked working for you all all he talked about was getting better so he could go back to work. He had been sick since Jan we had been to doctors,in Houston Tyler and back to Palestine but never found out what was wrong till it was to late. He really loved his job and the people he worked with
