Gaston William Robertson, 74, of Pennington, Texas joined his precious savior on Saturday, October 19, 2019. He was born on August 6, 1945 in Bethesda, Maryland. Gaston was a world traveler. He took his first trip to Europe with the Sea Cadets when he was just 16. Gaston met his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Katherine in 1966. They had their first of three children, Lisa Fern, in 1967 followed by Gaston William Jr. (Robbie) in 1971 and James Russell in 1975. Gaston was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served his country proudly in the Navy on the U.S.S. Yorktown CV-10. Gaston spent his adult life working for J. Ray McDermott, Exxon Mobil and Halliburton. Throughout his career, he took his family on many wonderful journeys. His first overseas job was in Saudi Arabia where his son, Robbie lost his first tooth. After Saudi Arabia, he took his family to Dubai where his youngest son, Russell finally threw his bottle away for a big boy cup and taught his daughter, Lisa how to drive amongst the sand dunes. Gaston worked in Korea where he learned how to cook the most amazing Asian foods. He spent time working in Africa and in the Sakhalin Island, Russia where he once had to crash land a company helicopter. He finally ended his career in the oil business after working several years in Singapore, returning stateside working part time for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. No matter how far he had to travel for work, his heart always remained with his family in Pennington, specifically Rockhill and that is where God called him to his heavenly home.

Gaston is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Lisa; son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Victoria Robertson; grandchildren, Morgan and Robbie; brother and sister-in-law, Teddie and Lindsay Robertson; niece and nephews, Sally, Seth and Ted Robertson as well as half-brother, Jordi and nephew Xavier Robertson. Greeting Gaston in Heaven were his parents, Vivian Fern Brewer and Teddie Ralph Robertson; his beloved son, Gaston William (Robbie) Robertson Jr. and numerous other family members.

A memorial service for Gaston William Robertson will be held Saturday, November 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Pennington Baptist Church with a meal following the service.
