Harley McFarland

Harley Odis McFarland, age 81, of Trinity passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 in Huntsville Memorial Hospital. Harley was born May 23, 1938 in Corpus Christi to parents, James A. (Jim) McFarland and Hazel Huffman McFarland being the first born of ten children. He was a 1957 graduate of Trinity High School and worked various jobs through the years spending a short time in Mississippi and Louisiana also spent a short time in the Coast Guard Reserve. Harley also worked in the oil field on an oil rig and dozer work for a while. Safety was always his priority in any job he worked and he took it very seriously. He married his wife, Eula Faye Smith in 1968 and they adopted a little five year old girl, Stacy, who quickly became the joy of his life. Stacy passed away from a seizure in July, 1991. Harley was a truck driver by trade, however, he retired in 2003 after 30 years of service with the Union Pacific Railroad with a perfect safety record.

Harley is survived by brother, Charles McFarland and friend, Sandra (Sam) Dennison of Manvel; sisters, Lennie McFarland of Trinity, Jewell Redden and husband, Jerry of Trinity, Sadie Ruiz and husband, Alfonzo of Crockett; seven nephews; five nieces; special friend, Mikel Barksdale and wife, Susie of Trinity; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by wife, Eula Faye Smith McFarland; daughter, Stacy Michelle McFarland; brothers, Jim McFarland, Paul McFarland, Frank McFarland, Jerry McFarland; infant sister, Mary Ann.

Funeral services for Harley Odis McFarland will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2020 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jordan Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Clapp Cemetery. Visitation will be at 12 noon prior to service.
