Harry Elton Driskell, Jr., a native Texan, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Harry was born October 28, 1930 in Lovelady to Harry Elton Driskell, Sr. and Ruth Sanders Driskell. He served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from Anheuser-Busch, Houston Plant as a machinist. Harry was a member of the Lovelady Masonic Lodge #539 AF&AM and the Lovelady Church of Christ. Harry’s greatest joy was his family and traveling in his motorhome.

Harry is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 66 years, Mattie Carroll Driskell of Lovelady; daughters, Elizabeth Driskell Scott and husband, Jack, Jr. of Deer Park, Peggy Driskell Miller and husband, Richard, Sr. of Pearland; grandchildren, Jim Lamb and wife, Dani of Baytown, Trey Lamb and wife, Christy of Huntsville, Richard Miller, Jr. and wife, Sarah of Alvin, Cody Miller of Pearland, Sarah McLellan and husband, Ben of Jarrell, Jack Scott, III and wife, Connie of Hutto; great-grandchildren, Lauren Cantrell and husband, Preston of Houston, Colton Lamb of Baytown, Maci Lamb and fiancé, Blake Fayle of Baytown, Forest and Corbin Hayes of Baytown, Bailey and Emily Lamb of Huntsville, Kaylee and Maddox Miller of Alvin, Maddie and Kennedy McLellan of Jarrell, Jack Scott of Hutto; great-great-granddaughter, Lainey Fayle of Baytown; sister, Billye Baker of Galveston; sister-in-law, Margie Shaw of Pasadena; special friends, Mike and Carol Broxson of Lovelady; numerous other loving relatives and friends.

Harry is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ruth Driskell; sisters, Odessa Driskell Brown and Hazel Driskell Platt.

Funeral services for Harry Elton Driskell, Jr. will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Bro. Barry Shaw officiating. Interment to follow in the Lovelady Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 10:00 a.m. Saturday, prior to service. In lieu of the usual remembrances, memorials may be made to the Lovelady Evergreen Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 177, Lovelady, TX 75851 or the charity of your choice.     Please accept my sincere sympathy on Harry’s passing. Although many years have passed, I still remember Harry’s love of the neighborhood kids,his laugh and his teasing me into my adult years! Heaven gained another angel.
