Havis H. “Sonny” Harrison

Havis Harrison fixedHavis H. “Sonny” Harrison, age 83, of Crockett, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 in the Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.  He was born June 6, 1935 in England, AR to parents, James W. Harrison and Margie R. Youngblood Harrison.  He was owner and operator of Sonny’s Texaco Station in Freeport in the late 50’s and early 60’s.  Sonny then drove for Roadway Express retiring after 35 years, accident free.

Sonny is survived by son, Henry Harrison of Crockett; daughters, Jerrie Thayer of LaPorte, Beverly Harrison of Crestview, FL, Theresa Smith and husband, Bryan of Ruidoso, NM, Carol Harris and husband, Ricky of Katy; grandchildren, Joshua R. Benge and wife, Tana of Troy, Noah W. Travis and wife, Jessica of Mont Belvieu, Jennifer Propst and husband, Josh of Pasadena, William Harrison and wife, Clarrisa of West Columbia, Albert T. Schooley, IV of Los Cruces, NM, Gary Alan Krumwiede, Jr. of Brazoria, Ethan W. Joseph Thayer of Austin, Melissa Woodard and husband, Taylor of Crestview, FL, Katherine R. Harris of Katy, Ava M. Harris of Katy; fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Don Harrison and wife, Cecelia of Jones Creek, Joseph “Joe” Harrison and wife, Susan of Lake Jackson; sister, Marnell “Marty” Parker and husband, Jack of Lake Jackson; sisters-in-law, Virginia Langrell of Pine Bluff, AR, Pearline Musgrove of Pine Bluff, AR, Lena Fay Williams of Pine Bluff, AR;  brothers-in-law, Arlie Langrell, Jr. of Pine Bluff, AR, Bobby Langrell of Redfield, AR; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Harrison; parents, James W. and Margie R. Harrison; brother, James “Buddy” W. Harrison, Jr.; sisters, Deen Warner, Rita Kay Hall, Linda Joy Harrison.

Funeral services for Havis H. “Sonny” Harrison will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel.  Family will receive friends for visitation at 1:30 p.m. prior to service.  Online condolences may be made at www.callawayallee.com.
