Jan Eckles Salmon

Jan Salmon cropped 3Jan Eckles Salmon, age 79, of Crockett passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in the Winfield Nursing Center. Jan was born January 5, 1942 in Meridian, Mississippi to parents, Vernon Durell Eckles and Julia Yvette Decell Eckles. She was a graduate of Crockett High School and worked at the Houston County Electric Coop retiring after 33 years.  Jan was a longtime member of the Crockett Pilot Club and attended the Baptist Church.

Jan is survived by husband of 60 years, Winsel Salmon of Crockett; daughter, Sheila Ross and husband, Frank of Crockett; son, Rodney Salmon and wife, Polly of Crockett; grandchildren, Jordon Ross of Crockett, Jonathan Ross and wife, Isabel of Magnolia, Hunter Salmon of Crockett, Ty Salmon and wife, Natalie of Crockett, Dillon Shupak and wife, Tiffany of Austonio; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Everett Ross, Keelie, Kimber and Bryson Salmon, , Tenley, Carson, Amelia and Milo Leos; brother, Billy Eckles of Athens; numerous other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Yvette Eckles; brother, Danny Eckles; daughter-in-law, Laura Salmon; grandson, Dalton Shupak; mother-in-law, Alice Salmon.

Funeral services for Jan Eckles Salmon will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2021 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dennis Ivey officiating. Interment will follow in the Parker Cemetery in Grapeland. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Moore, Frye, Eckles Scholarship Fund, c/o Susan Park, P. O. Box 1248, Crockett, TX 75835 or the Harvest Church.
