James (Jimmy) McLean, age 74, of Crockett, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 in the Houston County Nursing Home. He was born in Crockett to parents, Harry McLean and Bertie Arnold McLean on November 25, 1944. Jimmy’s family was among the first settlers in Houston County owning land in Weches dating back to 1821. He graduated from Crockett High School attended Texas A&M and went on to earn his degree at Stephen F. Austin University. Jimmy worked as a local cowboy and rancher all of his life becoming a member of AQHA, TTRA, NCHA. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Crockett and attended Good Shepherd Fellowship.

Jimmy was survived by his children, Jeff Bobbitt and wife, Tabitha of Westwood, Sissy Lively and husband, Randy of Crockett, Jeremy Bobbitt and wife, Dylis Anne of Latexo, Ryan Bobbitt of Grapeland; grandchildren, Haylei Clark and husband, Junior of Rusk, Jordan Bobbitt and Gretchen of Elkhart, Colton Lively and wife, Kursten of Grapeland, Justin Bobbitt of Latexo, Jason Bobbitt of Latexo, Jax Bobbitt of Latexo, Jett Bobbitt of Latexo, Judd Bobbitt of Latexo; great-grandchildren, Cooper Warren, Camden Clark, Shyanne Clark, Jaxley Bobbitt, Jensen Bobbitt, Jonsie Bobbitt; first cousins, Butch Arnold and wife, Joyce of Crockett, Jerry Anderson of CA; nephews, Jared Anderson of NV, Tim Arnold and wife, Dawn of Midway; niece, Leanne Sikes and husband, John of Lufkin, Annette Green and husband, Michael of Dallas. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Sheila Ann McLean; parents, Harry and Bertie McLean; aunts, Myrtle Arnold Blankenship, Wilma Arnold Anderson Hurst.

Graveside services for James (Jimmy) McLean will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2019 Evergreen Memorial Park with Bro. Leon Wallace officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
