Joe Edward Wilkerson

Joe Wilkerson Obit pic 2Joe Edward Wilkerson, age 80, of Crockett, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his home. Joe was born November 15, 1940 in Houston, Texas to parents, Edward Alec Wilkerson and Ollie Bob Hargis Wilkerson. He was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War, a member of the James F. Taylor Masonic Lodge # 169 in Hallsville, the Pipefitter Union # 211, and worked as a pipefitter and welder for many years. Joe attended the Calvary Baptist Church and the Harvest Church in Crockett.

Joe is survived by his wife of 14 years, Glenda Durrett Wilkerson of Crockett; son, Christopher Todd Wilkerson and wife, Stephanie of Highlands Ranch, CO; special family member, Stacey Durrett Bear and husband, Brandon of Crockett; grandchildren, Tyler Wilkerson of Highlands Ranch, CO, Taylor Wilkerson of Rusk, Jackson Wilkerson of Highlands Ranch, CO, Jace Wilkerson of Highlands Ranch, CO, Zack Wilkerson of Dallas, Amber Faz of Dallas, John David Lackey, III with the U.S.M.C, Savannah Lackey of Crockett; five great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Jerrell Montgomery and wife, Diann of Grapeland; sister-in-law, Brenda Parker and husband Gene of Huntsville; numerous other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by first wife, Mary White Wilkerson; parents, Edward and Ollie Wilkerson; brother, John Wilkerson.

Funeral service for Joe Edward Wilkerson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 021 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel, Dr. Reggie Gregory officiating. Graveside to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Rosewood Park Cemetery in Longview, Texas, Rev. Kenny Bush officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
