Jordan Micah Gates, age 32, of Brenham passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in Brenham. Jordan was born January 11, 1986 in Huntsville to parents, Louis Gates and Deborah Hopkins Gates. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a degree in Business Administration.   Jordan was a member of the Latexo Baptist Church.

Jordan is survived by wife, Kandice Prcin Gates of Brenham; mother, Debbie Hunt and husband, Richard of Pennington; father, Louis Gates and wife, Valyre of Crockett; natural brother, Jason Matthew Gates of Plano; brothers, Blake Gates and wife, Colbie Gates of Lovelady, Clint Riley and wife, Ashley of Coppell, Richard Hunt II and wife, Jayda of The Woodlands; sisters, Amanda Oglesby and husband, Jonathan of Mansfield, Misty Latham and husband, W. P. of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by grandmothers, Charlene Hopkins, Ethel Rhea Gates; grandfather, Harvey H. Gates.

Celebration of Life for Jordan Micah Gates will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in the Latexo Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Franks and Rev. Nathan Louden officiating.   Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Winnie Berry Animal Shelter, 1102 N. John Reddit, Lufkin, TX 75904.

  25. So saddened to hear the news of Jordan’s passing. Jordan and I really tested the patience of some of Latexo’s finest teaching staff. I’ll always remember how much fun those days were. Louis and Valyre, I always looked up to you guys there at Latexo Baptist through Sunday school. May God bless you guys during this rough time.

  30. I was so saddened to hear this news recently from a childhood friend I shared with Jordan. We talked about all the fond memories we had of him and my friend commented that Jordan was so fun and when she thinks of him it reminds her of laugher and good times. When I think of Jordan I mostly think of that huge smile and a friendly heart that is rare to find. I’m grateful that Jordan and I crossed paths on our life’s journeys and am sending prayers and love to his family.
