Lillian Driskell

Lillian DriskellLillian Driskell, age 89, of Lovelady, passed away Monday, July 6, 2020 in the Winfield Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born the youngest of eleven children, November 11, 1930 in Volga to parents, Willie Richard “Bud” Jordan and Mabel “Mamie” Wylie Jordan. Lillian graduated from Lovelady High School in 1948, then went on to work in Houston at an insurance office. She married the love of her life, Joe Lynn Driskell, on September 3, 1950, they were married for 67 ½ years. Lillian retired from Lovelady ISD after 36 years as a secretary to the Superintendent and Bookkeeper. She was a faithful member of the Lovelady church of Christ. Her dedicated service to the Lord was instrumental in securing a strong faith in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lillian was a woman with a quiet spirit and the ultimate pleaser, putting everyone else before herself. Her influence and love will be with her family and friends forever. She will truly be missed by all.

Lillian is survived by children, Debbie Rollo and husband, Sonny of Lovelady, Joe David Driskell and wife, Chris of Lovelady, Keith Driskell and wife, Julie of Lovelady; grandchildren: Jason Rollo and wife, B.J., Jeffrey Rollo and wife, Connie, Emily McLaughlin and husband, Nate, Lacey Arthur and husband, Zachary, Sarah Bird and husband, Jim Patrick, Katie Dobbins and husband, Justin, Justin Driskell, Jordan Driskell; seventeen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband, Joe Lynn Driskell; great-grandson, Drake Everett Dobbins; parents, Willie Richard “Bud” Jordan and Mamie Wylie Jordan; sisters: Eloise Westmoreland, Lucille Adams, Ruth McDougal, Frank Alice Gardner, Laura Jo Herridge, Shirley Parker,  Doris Monk, Margaret Parker; brothers, Jack Jordan, Dick Jordan.

 

Graveside services for Lillian Driskell will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2020 in the Lovelady Evergreen Cemetery with Jason Rollo and Jeffrey Rollo officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.

  10. Heaven gained another angel. My mother passed away on July 6, 1999, twenty-one years ago, while I was still at Lovelady. I think Miss Lillian and my mother will really like each other.❤️To all the family members that I taught or worked with as an educator, I am truly sorry for your loss.
