Lonnie Ellis

lonnie ellis picLonnie Ellis, age 84, of Crockett, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at his residence.  Lonnie was born  March 11, 1936 in Houston County to parents, Bryant Ellis and Mary Belle Ellis.   Lonnie married Bobbie Cummings August 28, 1954.  He was a member of the Truly God’s Country Cowboy Church.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of  66 years, Bobbie Ellis of Crockett; daughters, Nancy Stowe and husband, Johnny of Crockett, Terry Yargo and husband, Wayne of Crockett, Robbie Goodson of Crockett, Sheila Lawson of Crockett, Cherie Mooneyham and husband, David of Kennard; grandchildren, Chasity and Rocky Hoch, Tabitha Yargo, Kevin and Ashton Yargo, Sabrina and Stephen Chapman, Jeremy and Konnie Goodson, Daniel Gates, Jordon and Ashley Gates, Candice Lawson, Caleb and Katlyn Lawson, David and Heather Mooneyham, Lonnie Mooneyham; great-grandchildren, Damien and Tori Stowe, Noah Hoch, Harlie Hoch, Hunter Goodson, Carson Chapman, Cailyn Chapman, Haylee Goodson, Sarah Goodson, Austin Yargo, Halli Hunt, Braydon Gates, Elijah Lawson, Silas Lawson, Charles Rose, Tanner DeGeer, Preston Mooneyham, Peyton Mooneyham; great-great-grandchildren, Tinley Stowe, Bryson Stowe, Rynn Dilli.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Sandra Kay Ellis; parents, Bryant and Mary Belle Ellis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Viola Cummings; sons-in-law, Craig Lawson and Dana Goodson; grandson, Johnny Frank Stowe, Jr; great-grandsons, Devon Frank Stowe, Aidan Vance Peterson; brothers, Hollis Ellis, J. L. Ellis, Walter Ellis, Lacey Ellis, Bryant Ellis; sisters, Lorine Rhone, Lucille Linder, Ruth Whitehead, Hazel Martin, Beatric Wright, Clara Keels, Laverene Ball; sisters-in-law, Joyce Hamlet and husband, Floyd, Lois Nelms and husband, Bobby, Alma Stidman and husband, Doyle.

Memorial graveside services for Lonnie Ellis will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in the Jim English Cemetery.
