Ragin Lee Hammons, age 75, of Crockett passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at his home. Regan was born October 25, 1945 in Kennard to parents, Cash Hammons and Susie Cartwright Hammons.

Ragin is survived by brothers, Thelbert Hammons of New Caney, George Hammons and wife, Nelda of Zavalla, Bill Hammons and wife, Gayle of Ovilla; sister, Lou Cook of Crockett; sister-in-law, Jean Hammons of Weches; numerous loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Cash Hammons and Susie Cartwright Hammons; sisters, Janette Helton and husband, Wilmer Neal, Mozelle Morgan and husband, Alvin; and brother, J.C. Hammons.

Graveside services for Ragin Lee Hammons will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in the Porter Springs Cemetery, Brother Darryl Bennett officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. prior to service.

  1. Regan was employed at New Directions Industries in Crockett on the road crew years ago when Barbara Nettles was our employer. He used to go to Brookshire Bros to buy a cup of coffee in the mornings as well as Okay food store on South Fourth Street. He’ll sure be missed by everyone on the road crew that used to work with him.

  2. Ragin was a gentleman and nice to be around. If he liked you, you knew it. He sat at the same table as me when we had bingo at our community room. Rest in peace and you are a good memory for me.
