Sheryl Driskell WebsiteObit PicSheryl Ann “Sherry” Driskell, age 62, of Lovelady, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at her residence. She was born July 24, 1957 in Houston to parents, Richard Beard and Ann Brown Beard. Sherry was an advertising agent for the Houston County Courier, where she worked for many years. She was very active in the Crockett Area Chamber of Commerce, receiving many awards over the years for her service, including this year’s Ambassador of the Year Award. Sherry always had a smile, loved spending time with her family, and many family and friends were recipients of her knitting skills.

Sherry is survived by her husband of 29 years, David Driskell of Lovelady; children, Maria Cook of Crockett, Daphne Cook of College Station, Amanda Brooks and husband, Glenn of Fort Worth, Jefferey Smith and wife, Michyle of Lovelady, David Troy Driskell of Lovelady, Dana Easterling and husband, Tyson of Porter Springs, Troy Driskell and wife, Joanna of Lovelady; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; mother, Ann Turner of Austonio; father, Richard Beard of Friendswood; sister, Jill Jenkins and husband, Russell of Austonio; brothers, Brian Beard of Austonio, Tal Beard and wife, Cassi of Friendswood; father-in-law, Troy Driskell of Lovelady; brother-in-law, Carl Driskell and wife, Carol of Montgomery; sister-in-law, Patricia Baker and husband, Bill of Riverside; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services for Sheryl Ann “Sherry” Driskell will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2020 in the Lovelady Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Brett Jones and Rev. Jordan Johnson officiating. Interment to follow at the Lovelady Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.

  1. So sorry to hear of Sherry’s passing. So many of the Austonio people are passing away. When I drive down the old roads I am so amazed at the new homes where pastures used to be forty years ago. I assure me and my family will be praying for your family that The Almighty God will comfort and heal your broken hearts.

  6. I got to know Sherry in the early eighties, when she was my daughter’s Brownie Leader. What a determined, caring person, I saw Sherry to be.   12. I am so sorry Driskell, Cook and Smith Family. I just found out about Sherry. I remember reading Amanda’s Post about a problem but I heard nothing more. I am so out of touch with the news…my fault. Sherry and I were friends on Facebook and for many years prior when I taught her children in Lovelady. Again, so very sorry for your loss. Sherry was a fine, loving, caring woman and she will be fondly remembered.❤️
