Mrs. Doris Huntsman Driskell, age 68, of Lovelady, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at her residence. She was born January 10, 1945 in Velasco, Texas being the youngest of seven children born to Artie Mae and Berlin Howard Huntsman. Doris was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Weldon and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a retired license vocational nurse and also a member of the First Baptist Church in Lovelady. Blessed are those who hearts have been touched by Doris. She extended love and kindness to everyone. The fruits of her spirit were grounded in her unwavering faith and expressed in her countless and selfless acts of kindness. Doris was a wonderful caregiver with an adventurous spirit and was so much fun to have around. Of course, she will be extremely missed by every life her spirit has touched.
Survivors include husband, Troy C. Driskell of Lovelady; step-daughters, Courtney Lynch and husband, Brandon of Clear Lake, Samantha Bamburg and husband, Clay of Texarkana; father-in-law, Troy R. Driskell of Lovelady; brothers, Wayne Huntsman and wife, Carolyn of Lovelady, Victor Huntsman and wife, Bea of Katy; sisters, Charlene Bartee and husband, Quinn of Pearsons Chapel, JoAnn Friudenberg and husband, Fred, Martha Huntsman of Lovelady; very special niece, Nada Sample of Lovelady; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives. Preceded in death by husband, Glover Marks; step-son, Charles Marks; father, Berlin Huntsman; mother, Artie Kyle Huntsman; sister, Jane Huntsman Gerick; mother-in-law and very special friend, Ernestine Driskell.
Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Huntsman Driskell will be held Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Lovelady. Interment will follow in the Lovelady Antioch Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Shut Ins Fund Lovelady.
